We recently began experiencing an unexpected increase in traffic through our dedicated POP and SMTP servers.
So, we upgraded those servers and restructured the way they allocate bandwidth. We're confident this will lead to even greater reliability in the future--and that it will get you back to the high speed and dependability you expect.
To take advantage of these hardware upgrades, you will need to make a small change to BOTH your Yahoo! Mail Incoming Mail Server (POP) and Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) address settings. Here's how:
At the beginning of BOTH the POP and SMTP server address settings, add the word "plus." (period included).
That is,
Incoming Mail Server (POP3):
plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):
plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Where do I do that?
Generally, you can find these settings under the Tools or Preferences menus within your particular email program.
We understand that this has been frustrating, and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
